|
| 3/13 - The Ravens started
the Spring 2011 season with their first game ever under
the lights. They traveled to Westfield to play the PSV
Eindhoven. The Ravens scored first. The team from Westfield
was able to score an equalizing goal just before the
half. The Ravens came out very aggressive in the second
half attacking the goal the whole second half, but the
team from Westfield was able to defend off all the shots
on goal. Both teams remained scoreless leaving the game
at a 1-1 draw. |
| 3/20 - Due to the Union
fields not be available the game has been postponed
to a later date. |
| 3/27 - The Ravens hosted
the team from South Brunswick. The Vikings were
able to score first early in the first half. The
Ravens were able to come back and tie the score late
in the first half making the score 1-1 at the half.
The Vikings score a very quick goal at the beginning
of the second half and though the Ravens had several
shots on goal were not able to break through.
The game ended 2-1 for the Vikings. |
| 4/3 - The Ravens hosted
the Red Storm from Greater Flemington. The Ravens took
an early 1-0 lead but the Red Storm came right back
and scored two quick goals. The Ravens were able to
tie the score and with 35 secs left in the half the
Red storm were able to score a final third goal, to
make the half time score 3-2, Red Storm. Both teams
continue their battle and with little time left in the
game the Ravens were able to score an equalizing goal
to allow the game to end in a 3-3 tie. |
| 4/10 - The Somerset Hills
game is postponed and will be rescheduled. |
| 4/17 - The Ravens hosted
the team from Westfield, where the Ravens took an early
1-0 lead. PSV Eindhoven were able to counter with 2
goals of their own. The Ravens were able to once again
score an equalizing goal which allowed the game to end
in a 2-2 draw. |
| 4/30 - The Ravens traveled
to Basking Ridge to play the Red Storm from Somerset
Hills. The Red Storm scored an early goal to take the
1-0 lead. The game kept going back and forth with both
teams taking several shots on goal without either team
being able to break through. The Ravens were finally
able to penetrate the Red Storm defense and score a
goal with 7 minutes left to play. Both teams continue
to play hard to but neither was able to score so the
game ended in a 1-1 tie. |
| 5/1 - The Ravens hosted
the Storm from Union. The Ravens scored the first goal
of the game and never looked back. They scored a second
goal to make the score at the half 2-0. In the second
half, the Ravens continued to hustle and win the ball
at all opportunities. The team was able to add a third
goal in the second half to end the game with a 3-0 win. |
| 5/8 - The Ravens traveled
to South Brunswick to face their nemesis, the Vikings. South
Brunswick got off to a quick start and scored two early
goals. Ravens were able to counter with one to make
the half time score 2-1. South Brunswick started the
second half the same way and scored another two goals. The
Ravens and Vikings traded another goal to make the final
score 5-2, Vikings. |
| 5/15 - The Ravens traveled
to Flemington. The Ravens took a quick 2-0 lead
in the first half. The Red Storm were able to
score a goal in the second half but the Ravens responded
with three more goals. The game ended 5-1. |
| 5/22 - The Ravens hosted
Somerset Hills. The Ravens beat them 3-2. |
| 6/2 - In possibly their
last game as the Ravens, they traveled to Union to play
the Storm and played one of their most physical and
emotional games. In a game that saw numerous elbows,
pushes, fouls and inappropriate language, which resulted
in a yellow and a red card, the Ravens were able to
rebound from an early 2-0 deficit. The Storm scored
two very quick goals but the Ravens were able to respond
with three goals of their own to take a 3-2 lead into
the half. The second half was even more intense with
several stoppages in play in order to calm down the
situation. Both teams battled hard to score another
goal. But as easy as it may have been in the first half,
it was near impossible in the second. When the 35 minute
half (which seemed like hours) finally ended, the Ravens
came away with the well earned and deserved 3-2 win. A
great end to a wonderful game, season and Raven career. |
